We Worship As a Community of Faith

Worship Music and Arts

Portola UMC has a full choir, and many individuals with various musical talents including Native American flutes, guitars, ukes, and even the occasional spoons!

We also have creative artists who are constantly sharing their artistic skills throughout our worship space.

Come and share your talents! Call the Church office if you need more information, or if you would like to help. We would love your help!

Worship on Sunday

Our Worship begins at 10:30 AM with prayer, songs (both new and old) then more prayer, and scripture reading.  Come and experience how the  Word comes alive,  sometimes through music, movies, puppets, children and youth, and sometimes through flawed words from our hearts.

As United Methodists, we celebrate the sacraments of Baptism  and Holy Communion. Communion is served on the first Sunday of each month.

PUMC believes in doing no harm, and living out our faith in action and love. For more info...

What We Believe

As United Methodists, we have an obligation to bear a faithful Christian witness to Jesus Christ, the living reality at the center of the Church’s life and witness. To fulfill this obligation, we reflect critically on our biblical and theological inheritance, striving to express faithfully the witness we make in our own time.

We live into our faith with an emphasis on John Wesley, who teaches us to live out our faith in mission, action and love.  And it is here, where  God meets us right where we are; broken open in love, and made beautiful by His grace.
